Unreliable Audi R8 LED Lights

That the Audi R8 is an incredibly piece of engineering and art cannot be denied. But even in this supercar, Audi's notorious unreliability, especially with respect to the electrical system, can be witnessed. Yesterday, I saw an R8 pulling up at a stop sign. Its haunting string of LED lights were on, or were they? Indeed, the LED string on the passenger's side was on but the driver's side was out. On a brand new, $125,000 car.

But then again, with such a complicated set up, something is bound to go wrong.

Was the R8 making a turn? If the turn signal is on, then the LED lights at that corner of the car are turned off.

This can be changed by the dealer, but it's the default in North America.

It may have had its blinker on.

ofcourse it had its indicator on, they do that so the great unwashed dont miss the warning that a turn is imminent by the said vehicle. i have driven one of these masterpieces and i wouldnt care if it had no lights at all!!!Audi is the only viable german prestige on the market. BMW=fuckin ugly, Benz= german taxi & Lexus=camry in a frock. nuff said.

btw 'tamerlane', you really need to get a hobbie if you spot "issues" with new vehicles on the road and proceed to bag them without any knowledge. shame shame

Wow, why don't you tell us how you really feel? I acknowledge that the R8, as with almost all Audi products, are spectacular aesthetically and technologically. I think it's a matter of me having a bias against them with respect to the issue of reliability (based on anecdotal evidence) and having a knee-jerk reaction when I thought I saw a perceived reliability issue. Mea culpa.

Not a week goes by here in Northern California when I don't see an Audi with one of its LED eyebrows off - and they're NOT turning the corner.
